The HPDAC2 - A PCM1798 Based Oversampling USB Powered USB DAC with built-in Headphone Amplifier
The HPDAC2 is similar to the original, sharing the same basic power supply, except that it uses a PCM1798 for the DAC.
The PCM1798 is a current output DAC that accepts an I2S connection and internally oversamples by 8x.
Additionally, the "2" uses a passive I/V with an opamp differential to single ended converter, based around similar circuitry of the EZDAC.
Finally, all of the opamps are DIP sized theoretically making it easier to assemble. Overall, the project worked reasonably well though boards were never widly available.
