HPDAC4 - A TDA1545 Based Non Over Sampling DAC with built-in Parafeed (L'espressivo) Headphone Amplifier

The amp portion is a basic choke loaded parafeed - arguably in the L'espressivo family -- call it a L'HPDAC. It uses Jensen step down input transformers in reverse to act as I/V and voltage gain for the DAC. The other iron is all Electra-Print. The output caps were picked up used for very cheap, and I paralleled a few to reach 8uF -- I don't really like these caps, but I am finding that even crappy caps in parallel with themselves seem to sound pretty good. Go figure.

The PS uses a 120+120:7:7 Amveco toroid with one primary as the primary and the other as the secondary -- likely an inherently dangerous thing to do as the primaries are wound bifilar meaning that the only insulation may be enamel. The upside is that they are hipot tested to 500V or so. The 7V secondaries are in series and regulated to 12.6V which feeds the heaters and the DAC.

The DAC itself is an old TDA1545 board I found in a box in the closet.
